Shane Battier - Peak

Shane Battier is the starting small forward for the Houston Rockets.  He was born in Birmingham, Michigan on September 9, 1978.  He was Mr. Basketball of Michigan in 1997.  He played four years at Duke University, and He won the 2001 National Championship there.  He was drafted sixth by the Memphis Grizzlies and traded to the Houston Rockets five years later.  Battier is a good shooter, especially the corner three-pointer, but he makes his living as a premier defender (SG, SF, PF) with a high degree of skill, blocks and steals, hustles and draws charges from opponents.

The Rockets acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Stromile Swift and the Rockets` number 8 selection Rudy Gay in the 2006 NBA Draft.   Battier is often said to have "the intangibles" for playing sound, fundamental, team-oriented basketball, making his teammates more effective without paddiung his own stats.  He is known for his discipline and hustle rather than raw athleticism.  He is also known for his preparation for his opponents.  The Rockets give him access to a huge amount of highly sophisticated statistical data that they compile on all opposing players so that he can familiarize himself with his opponents.
Battier has career averages of 9.8 ppg., 4.7 rpg., 1.9 apg., 1.1 spg., and 1.0 bpg.  He has shot 44% from the field, 39% from the 3, and 75% from the charity stripe.

Shane Battier has been endorsed by companies ranging from Oakley to Nike.  He has been wearing PEAK shoes for several years. 

The shoe features a red synthethic upper with zip up closure.  White and black accents are sprinkled over the upper and midsole to match the Rockets uni.

He has worn his signiture model in a number of colorways.  These are his strapped sneaker in a "Home" look.

White leather provides a base for the upper, while a textured red is used along the sides and on the forefoot strap. To match the outsole, the collar and liner are all black.

Various gold designs can be seen throughout, including the logo on the quarter panel.

PEAK attempts to get us in the Halloween spirit with these new themed sneakers.

The Halloween Battier V features a black and red synthetic upper, with white leather wrapped around the toe and black around the heel. A “blood” splatter print appears on rands along the base and toe, while an image of Dracula is centered on the heel. Black and red combine for the Cushion 3 midsole, while white rubber works below.
