PEAK has signed Houston Rockets rookie, Patrick Patterson.  The rookie will join Shane Battier and Kyle Lowry of the Rockets on the PEAK team.  Patterson will be the first official NBA player to sign with PEAK`s US-based business.  There is no mention of when Patrick Patterson`s sneakers will be available.  I expect it to be in Rockets-based colorways.

Chuck Hayes - Li Ning

Chuck Hayes Jr.  is a backup forward for the Houston Rockets.  He is a 6`6", 238 pound center / power forward known for his great post defense.  Hayes was signed to a 10-day contract on January 18, 2006.  In his second game in a Rockets uniform, Hayed posted a double-double, collecting 12 points and 13 rebounds in a win over the Bulls on January 20.  On January 28, the Rockets announced they were signing Hayes for the rest of the season.  Hayes was quietly productive for the Rockets in his first season.  Hayes was one of the most efficient defensive players in the league, ranking 3rd among rookies in rebounds per 48 minutes and 14th in steals per 48 minutes.  He also had a FG% of 52.6%, good for 11th highest in the league among players with at least 100 field goals attempted.  The Rockets picked up the option year on his contract, extending his stay with the Rockets through the 2006-2007 season.  As a starter in most of the Rockets` games for the 2006-2007 season, Hayes was a significant contributor.  His role on the team was rebounding, defense, and acting as a decoy or setting screens on offense.  He is somewhat notorious for getting in foul trouble.  He ended his second season with the 3rd most fouls per game and 7th most fouls per minute in the league.  Hayes signed a shoe endorsement deal with Chinese athletic apparel company Li Ning.  The deal was valued at $5 million.  On July 31, 2007, Hayes signed a contract with the Houston Rockets valued at $8 million over 4 years.  In 2009, Hayes was named co-captain along with Shane Battier for the 2009-2010 Houston Rockets.  From 2003 to 2009, Hayes had the second highest defensive adjusted plus-minus of all NBA players.  During the 2009-2010 season, Hayes replaced the injured Yao Ming.

Chuck Hayes Houston Rockets Shoes

Hayes is listed as a forward, but plays center after injuries to Yao Ming.  He nearly always has to overcome a significant height disadvantage as he stands only 6`6.  Hayes does this with strength, positioning, and sheer determination.  He is a great rebounder and defender.

Chuck Hayes` shoes are primarily white in color with a red Li Ning logo.  Chuck Hayes said: "I finally signed a contract with Li Ning approximately 3 weeks ago. It is a 1-year contract, the concrete details of which I cannot disclose to you. I will visit China next summer, and we have yet to agree on what I am going to do then. I will probably stay for a week in China, and I hope the Chinese fans will like me."

Brad Miller - Nike

Brad Miller is a backup center for the Houston Rockets.  He was born on April 12, 1976 in Kendallville, Indiana.   On July 17, 2010, Miller signed a three-year contract with the Houston Rockets, worth $15 million.  He is the backup to Yao Ming and a valuable insurance policy.  On November 12, 2010, in Miller`s first start for the Rockets, scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.  On December 3, 2010, Miller tied his season high 23 points, going a perfect 7-7 from the field, including 3-3 from beyond the three point line, and 6-7 from the charity stripe.

Miller is not a traditional center.  He has only averaged double-digit rebounds once in his career and has never averaged more than 1.2 blocks per season.  He prefers shooting midrange jump shots, and a very efficient scorer, one of the best-shooting big men in the league.  For his career, he has averaged 49.7% from the field and 79.4% from the free throw line.  His passing sets him apart from other centers in the league.  In 2005-2006, he averaged 4.7 assists per game.  The princeton offense run by the Rockets allows and demands Miller to be a good passer.  Miller has also added a three-point to his game.  In 2005-2006, he shot 38.6% of them.  He has career averages of 11.7 ppg., 7,5 rpg., and 2.9 apg. while shooting 48% from the field, 32% from the three, and 80% from the free throw line.

Courtney Lee - Nike

Courtney Lee is a backup guard for the Houston Rockets.  He was born on October 3, 1985 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the 22nd pick overall in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Magic.  He played at Western Kentucky University.   Lee started for the Magic in his rookie year, but is known for missing the potential game-winning layup at the end of regulation that would have evened the series at 1.  Lee was traded to the Nets for Vince Carter.  Lee led the Nets in steals, three point shots made, and free throw percentage.  He scored a career high 30 points against the Grizzlies on March 8, 2010.  Lee was traded to the Houston Rockets on August 11, 2010 in a four-team, five-player trade in which the Rockets sent Trevor Ariza to the Hornets.  This was a cost cutting move for the Rockets, but the fans have been pleased with his play.  He has career averages of 10.4 ppg., 2.9 rpg., and 1.4 apg. while shooting 44% from the field, 36% from beyond the three point line, and 85% from the charity stripe.  He is known for his defense.

Dubbed the “Cardinals Home”, they start with a white leather base, a black sock liner is added to provide the contrast. Equally as important is the varsity red accents that appear within the sock liner, as well as across the velcro strap on the forefoot and the midsole. On the rear, Nike has included an oversized Swoosh in case you weren’t sure, and the word “Nike” across the top of the strap.

Kyle Lowry - Peak

Kyle Lowry is the backup point guard for the Houston Rockets.  He was the 24th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Grizzlies.  The Rockets acquired Lowry at the NBA trade deadline on February 19, 2009, in a 3-team deal involving the Magic.  He is known for his defense and ability to get to the basket.  On December 3, 2010, Lowry scored a career-high 28 points and career-tying 12 assists against the Grizzlies.  He has career averages of 8.7 ppg., 3.8 asp., and 3.0 rpg., while shooting 42% from the field, 26% from the three, and 77% from the line.

The color scheme coincides perfectly with the Houston Rockets ‘Home’ jerseys as it contains a predominately white-colored base with multiple red hints in the form of PEAK/Kyle Lowry branding, the laces and the inner lining. Additionally, Lowry’s name, along with his jersey number (#7) is located between the lacing panel and the toe box.

Cosmetically, the shoe is as unique as any other Jordan model relative to the rest of the field. Starting at the toe, the toe cap has Michael Jordan`s signature embossed. The side of the shoe features a stitched pattern that gives the shoes strength in addition to cosmetic effect. The tongue of the left and right are different for a first time with a Jumpman on the right shoe and “23″ on the left. Lastly what starts at the front of the shoe and extends the full length is a glittery glossy panel that covers the midsole body of the sneaker.
